On Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd, we held a joint seminar on "Intercultural Nursing" with Khon Kaen University in Thailand, Fujita Health University in Japan, and the University of Malaya in Malaysia, to promote exchanges among students in English. There were about 80 students, faculty and staff in attendance on the first day and about 70 on the second day.

  The first day began with opening remarks by Dr. Ampornpan Theeranut, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Khon Kaen University, followed by three lectures on "Oral Health Care in Nursing Field," by Dr. Yu Kubota, an SHI junior associate professor, "Nursing Innovation: Transforming for a Better Future," and "The Role of NPs in Acute Settings in Fujita Health University Hospital."

  The second day began with opening remarks by Dr. Yutaka Horie, the Dean of the School of Health Sciences at Fujita Health University, and Dr. Ung-il Chung/Yuichi Tei, the Vice President of our university. Students then broke out into breakout rooms to deepen their exchanges and discuss the topics from the previous day's lectures. The two-day event closed with presentations by six student groups.

  We will continue to make efforts to promote student-to-student exchanges with both domestic and overseas universities and colleges.
