The Center for Innovation Policy(CIP) is a transdisciplinary research institute with think tank functions. CIP was established to contribute widely to the management of ME-BYO and the promotion of health innovation by providing scientific and policy evidence through integrarion of the varied and advanced knowledge accumulated at KUHS.

Many of CIP's activities, such as the development of the "ME-BYO INDEX", analysis based on healthcare data, and human resource development focusing on data analysis, are promoted in strong collaborations with Kanagawa Prefecture and industries in various fields. CIP aims to engage in and empower the practice of evidence-based policy making through the accomplishment of research in collaboration with industry, academia, and goverment.
